Summer in Flagstaff

Flagstaff comes to life in the Summer. Events, festivals, farmer’s markets and much more, provide ample opportunity to be outside and enjoy the cool weather and sunny skies. Below are just a few of the many events happening throughout the summer months.

Saturday Morning Birdwalks

The Arboretum at Flagstaff. Members of the Audubon Society lead participants on a walk through The Arboretum gardens, wetlands, meadow and forest identifying resident and migratory bird species. (Saturdays, May-June).

Concerts in the Park

Join the Parks & Recreation Department as they take Concerts in the Park on the road. Enjoy music, arts and crafts, face painting and more. (Every Wednesday, June-July).

Walnut Canyon Discovery Hikes

Canyon Ledge Hike: Experience the canyon and the cliff dwellings along ancient ledge paths. Reservations required. Duration: 1.5 hours, difficulty: strenuous. (July through September).

Ranger Cabin Walk: Explore the recently restored 1904 Ranger Cabin where park rangers and their families once welcomed visitors to Walnut Canyon. Visitors can go with a ranger at set times or walk to the cabin without a guide from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on the days the cabin is open. Duration: 2 hours, difficulty: easy. (July through September).

American Cancer Society's Climb to Conquer Cancer

Join hundreds of climbers on an exhilarating seven-mile walk up the paved road to Arizona Snowbowl in August from 7 a.m.- 12 p.m.
