Arizona Snowbowl also offers plenty of summer activities during the off-season, making it a refreshing mountain escape at 9,500 feet. Families can enjoy summer tubing, a bungee trampoline, and a climbing wall at Agassiz Lodge, or take in sweeping views on a Scenic Gondola Ride to Arizona’s highest point at 11,500 feet. On Fridays and Saturdays, Sunset Gondola Rides offer stunning golden-hour views, with an optional dinner package at Agassiz Lodge featuring elevated mountain fare.
Just down the road, Basecamp at Snowbowl provides year-round cozy cabins, a full-service restaurant and bar, and live music on the weekends. Snowbowl’s on-mountain lodges also host signature events, weekend programming, and private functions all summer long.
First-time skiers and expert snowboarders will enjoy a wide range of slopes and descents. Featuring 61 runs, Arizona Snowbowl offers different green, blue, and black diamond paths. Beginners should start at Little Spruce conveyer belt and gradually make their way to the Hart Prairie lift, gliding through wide spaces with fewer crowds. Bring your little ones to the Snowburners lesson program, a 6-week series of skiing and snowboarding classes for children who are between the ages of 4 and 12. Make your way to Arizona Snowbowl, which is just a 30 minute from Downtown Flagstaff. Travel northwest along Highway 180, and make a right turn onto Snowbowl Road, driving until you reach the resort. The Snowbowl offers eight parking lots split between the base areas: Hart Prairie and Agassiz Lodge. Overnight parking is only permitted for visitors who are hiking in the surrounding outdoor trails of the resort.
The Mountain Line Express Shuttle offers free transportation to Snowbowl from the downtown Flagstaff area during the holiday period and weekend in January and February. Don’t miss embarking on a direct ride service to the resort, which is offered during the winter months. Fort Valley Lodge also offers a large area for guest parking at the base of Snowbowl Road, with a free shuttle up to the base of the ski resort when chains or 4WD are required for travel on Snowbowl Road.
Lift entry costs vary depending on the time of the ski season, but visitors can purchase their admission tickets before traveling to the resort or arriving at the base areas. All lift tickets for the winter season start as low as $19 online and increase with demand. Season passes are available for purchase with different multi-day features, including access to various areas and discounts on online tickets. Children who are twelve years of age and younger can receive free season passes. For the best deals, it’s recommended to purchase tickets online and in advance for the best rates on lift tickets, lessons, and rentals. Snowbowl’s lifts normally run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
