WHAT TO PACK AND TIPS

  • Stop at the Flagstaff Visitor Center (1 E. Rt. 66) and show your accommodations receipt for a free gift for your dog.
  • At high altitude, the sun is more intense so drink plenty of water and rest often. Bring sunscreen.
  • Bring treats, toys, fresh water with a collapsible bowl and doggie bags for the trip.
  • Use a sturdy leash for walking or securing your pet.
  • Have current ID tags and a well-fitting collar.
  • Paw protectors (pending the trails you choose to hike).

TRAIL COURTESY

Dog owners need to keep their four-legged friend on a leash according to leash laws in wilderness areas.

BUFFALO PARK

A local favorite for dog owners showcasing spectacular views of the San Francisco Peaks with a two-mile trail loop and access to the Arizona Trail and Coconino National Forest.

Buffalo Park 2400 N. Gemini Rd.

BARK PARKS (OFF-LEASH AREAS)

Flagstaff is a dog-friendly city, and with two bark parks your dog will enjoy time at the park as much as the family.
