Mother Road Brewing Company earns the Discover Flagstaff 2020 EcoTourism Award for outstanding Eco-Friendly Programming in the Restaurant/Brewery category.

Mother Road Brewing Company won this year for their partnership with Arizona Game and Fish, creating a beer with the proceeds supporting the conservation of over 800 species of wildlife in Arizona.

  • Operates in a Coconino County sustainable building certified building.
  • Their building uses all natural lighting.
  • They donate grain used in the building process to a composting company.
  • They also use this grain to make dog biscuits.
  • Their partnership with Arizona Game and Fish, creating a beer with the proceeds supporting the conservation of over 800 species of wildlife in Arizona.
  • Portion of the proceeds go to 2 wildlife conservations in Arizona.
  • To mitigate waste of unnecessary valuable material they set up a partnership with local cattle ranchers who take grain from the brewing process.
  • In the last year this resulted in over 2 million pounds of grain being diverted to cattle.
  • Since 2018 Forestdale Farms of Flagstaff picks up 1000’s of gallons of organic material from their brewery each week.
  • This organic material speeds up their composting process, the farm then uses this compost to grow vegetables which are sold locally at the flagstaff farmers market.
