Use of open fire pits and open flame devices without an on/off switch are prohibited throughout the City of Flagstaff. Charcoal grills are prohibited throughout the City of Flagstaff including private residences and campgrounds. • Adjust food usage on each trip throughout the trip.
• Adjust the amount of food depending on the makeup of the group.
• All perishable foods that come back are either sent on the next trip or donated to Sunshine Rescue Mission.
• Perishable foods that won’t be used are donated to Sunshine Rescue Mission.
• Provide reusable dishware, flatware and cookware.
• Provide reusable containers for snacks.
• Carry out all recyclables.
• Save compostable items from trips.
• Attend a tour on the current recyclables in Flagstaff each year.
• Use fuel-efficient propane stoves.
• Motors are well taken care of to run properly and efficiently, to reduce fuel waste.
• Educate on environmentally friendly products, biodegradable soap, paraben-free sunscreen, reusable water bottles.
• Recommend our guests donate their unused gear to Grand Canyon Youth.
• Purchase recycled paper products, all-natural soaps as often as possible.
• Recycle our aluminum boat frames into new frames when possible.
• Provide a bike-to-work incentive for our employees.
• Use biodiesel for our vehicles when available.
• Have solar panels and a solar powered gate on our property.
