Reminiscent of the era, this event will be a day-long, free, family-friendly experience featuring nostalgic reenactments, a classic car show, streetscape art installations, and a festival in ‘The only 7,000-foot elevation, pine-fresh, dark-sky city on the Mother Road. The Route 66 bus departs the DCC (downtown connection center) every hour at quarter after, and will offer a tour of the sites along Route 66 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. To "top off" the day, after the Route 66 Centennial celebration concludes at 5pm, there will be more live music on Heritage Square while the community prepares for the annual sit-in, Movies on the Square. This evening will feature the Disney movie Cars. Each summer, Downtown Flagstaff transforms into the ultimate outdoor movie theater, and you’re invited to join in the fun.
