Join us for a Garden Day at Elden Pueblo, to plant the season's native garden using traditional drainage techniques.
Want to learn about Flagstaff’s first neighborhood, and how our ancient residents lived? Elden Pueblo is a Sinagua Heritage Site on Highway 89 at Townsend-Winona Road. Join us, for Native Garden Day. We’ll plant our crop for 2026 season. With a little help from summer rains, we may have a bounty by fall. Learn about how check dams in drainages were made to create garden fields in this region. We’ll use traditional digging sticks to plant native crops and watch them grow over the summer. Local plants and their native uses will be the focus of the first event of this summer’s Prehistoric Technology Fun Series. Bring hat, sunscreen, water and your sense of adventure! Saturday, May 10, from 10 am to 2 pm. You can just Stop by!
