Annually on the first weekend in May, just outside Flagstaff, a few hundred artists, musicians, makers, movers, families, and curious humans gather at Gateway Ranch for Mosaic Gathering, produced by Sondering. Part campout, part art experience, part community celebration, Mosaic is one of those rare weekends that feels both wildly creative and genuinely grounded. There are no big-name headliners or fenced-off VIP sections. Instead, the entire event is built by the people who attend it. Participants might spend an afternoon painting beside a stranger who becomes a friend, wandering through interactive art, learning to spin poi, soaking up a sound bath in Temple of Life, or dancing under the stars in the 65-foot geodesic dome while local musicians and DJs bring the dance floor to life. It is the kind of weekend that reflects Sondering’s simple invitation: make friends, make art, level up.
The Mosaic Gathering has quietly become one of the most authentic expressions of what makes Flagstaff special: creativity, self-expression, connection to nature, and a community that values active participation over passive spectating. Through events like Mosaic, Sondering has become part of the fabric of the local creative community, creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, and contribute. Mosaic is family-friendly, inclusive, and intentionally down-to-earth. Some people come to make art. Some come to rest, reconnect, and meet good people. Some come because they have been craving a place where they can show up exactly as they are. When and Where
When: May 1-2, 2026
Hours: Gates open at 12:00pm on Friday
All guests exit the property by 12:00pm on Sunday
Where: Gateway Ranch near Flagstaff (Directions provided upon ticket purchase)
Cost: Weekend passes are $100 for adults (13+) and $25 for children 12 and under. Single-day passes are $60 for adults and $15 for children for either Friday or Saturday. Vehicle passes are $25 per vehicle, and RV/travel trailer passes are $50.
