Southwest Flow Festival - Sept. 18-19, 2026

About Southwest Flow Festival

Each September, just outside Flagstaff at Gateway Ranch, a few hundred flow artists, dancers, yogis, movers, musicians, families, and playful humans gather for Southwest Flow Festival, produced by Sondering. Now entering its fifth year, SWFF is a family-friendly camping festival built around movement, creativity, connection, and embodied play.

Southwest Flow Festival is intentionally community-driven and built around active participation. The people who attend are part of what makes it special. Throughout the weekend, guests can participate in flow jams, movement workshops, fire spinning, circus arts, yoga, dance classes, partner acro, art experiences, and community-led activities. At night, the dance floor comes alive under the stars inside Gateway Ranch’s 65-foot geodesic dome, where music is on the floor with the people rather than separated behind barricades.

Southwest Flow Festival is designed to be welcoming and inclusive of people of all skill levels, whether someone is brand new to flow arts and movement, has been part of the community for years, or is a world-class performer. Everyone will find something here. The festival is built around love of movement, curiosity, connection, and play rather than ability or experience level. All are welcome. Guests might spend the afternoon learning how to spin poi for the first time, reconnecting with old friends, making art, watching skilled performers, sharing meals around camp, or discovering a new movement practice that they fall in love with.

The festival reflects Sondering’s invitation to make friends, make art, level up. It is inclusive, family-friendly, participatory, and intentionally down-to-earth. There are no VIP areas or premium add-on experiences once inside the event. Your ticket includes everything. Everyone has access to the same workshops, performances, music, community spaces, and activities, and everyone is welcome to participate in everything. People are invited to participate at whatever level feels good to them, whether that means dancing all night, joining every workshop, or simply relaxing in camp and soaking in the atmosphere.

After five years, Southwest Flow Festival has become one of the most meaningful and impactful gatherings for the flow arts and movement community in the Southwest United States. People leave with new skills, stronger friendships, inspired hearts, and the feeling that they were part of creating something real together.
