42nd Annual Route 66 Regional & 54th Annual Arizona State Championship

Flagstaff Chili Festival is a two-day Chili Cookoff adjacent to downtown Flagstaff in Thorpe Park and a quick 1-minute drive to Lowell Observatory. It is sanctioned by the International Chili Society and includes public tastings, a beer garden, music, and some vendors.

Saturday, August 1, 2026, is the 42nd Annual Route 66 Regional Chili Cookoff featuring Red Chili, Chili Verde and Vegetarian Chili. The 3rd First Responders Chili Challenge will take place today.

Sunday, August 2, 2026, is the 54th Annual Arizona State Championship Chili Cookoff featuring Red Chili, Chili Verde and Homestyle Chili. There 4th Best Restaurant Chili in Flagstaff Competition will also take place on this day.

Tasting Kits are $10.00 each and include spoons, 10 2 oz. cups, a People's Choice ballot, Specialty contest of the day ballot and 10 tickets.

Also, the Chili Festival profits benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Flagstaff.

Time: Saturday 10:30am - 3:30pm, Sunday 9:30am - 2:30pm
