Dora: A Daughter of Unforgiving Terrain

Join NAU’s Global Engagement and Language Learning Center as they host author and activist, Dora Rodríguez for an author talk and reading from her memoir, Dora: A Daughter of Unforgiving Terrain.

Rodriguez escaped war torn El Salvador in 1980 and was later found with 12 other survivors near death on a brutal crossing through the Sonoran Desert. She later became a leader in Tucson’s Sanctuary movement.

Dora educates communities about the harsh realities migrants face in the desert, and works to inspire transformative changes to immigration policy and the injustices plaguing our border towns.

She lives in Tucson and is the Founder and Director of Salvavision, a nonprofit offering aid and support to migrants and deportees.
