Ecuador, a small country with over 1600 bird species but only one bear, the elusive Spectacled Bear.
Alice Madar is an avid wildlife photographer and has enjoyed several photography trips to South America. In this presentation, she will focus on Ecuador, where she not only encountered a wide variety of birds, but also the shy, elusive Spectacled Bears, the only bear in South America. As executive director of the International Hummingbird Society, Alice’s particular focus is hummingbirds, but she will share photos and insights on a range of bird species that live in Ecuador’s Andes mountains, Amazon basin, cloud forests, and Galápagos Islands.
