The Basin, BMX Freestyle Facility
1700 E. 6th Ave. • 928-779-7690 • flagstaff.az.gov. The Basin is the only BMX-exclusive concrete facility of its kind in Arizona. Located in Sunnyside in east Flagstaff, the park offers three bowls with a variety of features, graded dirt mounds and rails for the experienced rider. A ramada offering protection from the sun, as well as bathrooms are provided on site. Entry is free. Open daily 9:00 a.m. to dusk.

Elden Pueblo Ruins Heritage Site
West side of Hwy 89 at Townsend-Winona Rd. • 928-527-3452 • www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino. Elden Pueblo is an ancestral Hopi site inhabited by the Sinagua culture from 1050 to 1275 A.D. Public archaelogy programs are offered during spring/summer/fall season. Free. Check website for event dates. Visitation open to the public anytime, along self-guided trail.
Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course

An exciting and unique tree top experience that is fun for all ages, Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course is an elevated obstacle course set in the beautiful ponderosa pines of northern Arizona and securely suspended between the trees at 15 to 45 feet above the ground. Come play in the trees!
Center for High Altitude Training 
NAU Campus • 928-523-4444 • nau.edu/highaltitude. NAU's Center for High Altitude Training is one of the world's leading altitude training destinations for international elite athletes. As an official U.S. Olympic Training Site, the center also specifically caters to U.S. athletes and provides training opportunities for youth through the Community Olympic Development Program. The NAU Center for High Altitude Training has been closed due to the university's budget reduction. Please see the website for further updates.
Mormon Lake Lodge
30 minutes southeast of Flagstaff; 21 miles on Lake Mary Rd. to Mormon Lake Village Exit, turn right, go 7 miles to lodge • 928-354-2227 • mormonlakelodge.com. Experience nature and enjoy fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking or rent an ATV to explore more than 20 miles of forest, lakes and trails within the Coconino National Forest. During the winter snow rent cross-country skis or snowmobiles. Country store, gas station, steakhouse and saloon, arena and buffalo habitat.

Free guided nature walks at The Nature Conservancy’s Hart Prairie Preserve, located on the western slope of the San Francisco Peaks. To join the walks, meet at the Fort Valley Plaza Shopping Center, 1000 N. Humphreys St. each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Bring sturdy shoes, sun protection, rain gear/jacket and water. Reservations are not required. No pets allowed. Offered on a seasonal basis.
The Nature Conservancy
Hart Prairie Preserve, 4.7 miles from the south entrance of Forest Service Rd. 151 • 928-774-8892, ext. 5 • nature.org/hartprairie. Flagstaff Climbing Center

Flagstaff Climbing Center is located in historic downtown Flagstaff and features over 6,500 square feet of widely varied climbing terrain to suit all abilities and climbing styles. For beginners, try the Day Visit Package and get instruction and rental equipment. No experience required. Looking to climb outside? Guided outdoor climbing is also available. Open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturday-Sunday noon-8 p.m.
