National Train Day - Flagstaff Visitor Center and Train Station

Train Day in Flagstaff Event Date: May 11, 2013

Time: 10 a.m. -2 p.m.

Come and join us and celebrate National Train Day!

10 a.m. -- Train Station Tour.Explore the Revival Tudor Style Train Station and feel what it was like to be a passenger in 1926; led by local author and subject matter expert Jack Welch.

  • 11 a.m. -- Flagstaff on the Map. Steve Hirst noted Historian and author presents a historic walk/talk taking you beyond the tracks.
  • 12:15 p.m. -- Train robbery Portrayal. A historical reenactment and narration of the 1889 Train Robbery on the Atlantic and Pacific RR, presented by Jerry Snow and the Pioneer Museum.
  • 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Organizations and informative displays: Operation lifesaver, BNSF police, Grand Canyon Railway, Sechrist Elementary School T-Trak layout, FMRRC, Flagstaff Hobbies, Deb Brendel - Train sewing crafts, John DeGraff with Flagstaff- Postcard series and National Association of Railroad Passengers.
