The Polar Express comes to life when the train departs the Williams Depot for a journey though the dark and quiet wilderness for a special visit to the “North Pole”.  Blackout dates exist. 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. departures.

Winter Holiday Celebration 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. — Lowell Observatory will extend it's open hours and offer indoor programs and special tours during the day. After dark, numerous telescopes will be set up for viewing celestial objects. Closed at 5:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Ring in the New Year in classic Flagstaff tradition as the giant, LED-Lighted Pine Cone is lowered from the top of the Historic Weatherford Hotel. The pine cone will drop at 10 p.m. and again at midnight.

 

*Free public parking will be available at City Hall located just 3 blocks from the drop, west on Aspen st. Disabled parking will be provided in the city lot off of Leroux st. (entire lot - disabled only), turn from route 66 onto Leroux st. Other free parking and disabled parking areas can be found at Wheeler Park (corner of Humphreys and Aspen st.) and the Flagstaff Visitor Center (Route 66 and S. Beaver st.).
