Heather oversees all destination marketing and visitor services as part of the Economic Vitality Division at the City of Flagstaff.  She coordinates efforts with area stakeholders and partners to promote Flagstaff as a year-round destination with professional visitor services. Prior to becoming the director, Heather managed the Public Relations section of the CVB, working with media outlets and film producers to promote Flagstaff.  Before moving to Flagstaff, Heather coached women’s basketball and worked in media relations for the WNBA in Miami. Heather and her husband moved to Flagstaff seven years ago, leaving the warm beaches of Miami for the mountains and winter sports of the high country, and they haven’t regretted that decision for one moment, as Flagstaff has truly become their home. Carrie is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Flagstaff CVB office and making sure that everything runs smoothly. Prior to joining the CVB, she worked in Human Resources for the City of Flagstaff. In her free time, Carrie loves hanging out in downtown Flagstaff, visiting the unique shops and restaurants.  During the summer, she loves taking her kids to Movies in the Square in Heritage Square. Joyce is responsible for promoting Flagstaff to the international travel trade market, including working with international and receptive tour operators primarily in the UK, Germany, France and Japan.  Prior to joining the CVB, Joyce spent more than 20 years in Parks and Recreation Management with municipal and county departments in Washington, Colorado, and Illinois, specializing in special event and cultural facility management, marketing and sponsorship development.  Joyce loves sharing information about Flagstaff and all we have to offer with the world, but in all of her travels, her favorite place to be is right here in Flagstaff.  Especially when she and her husband get to take a motorcycle ride through Sunset Crater and Wupatki national monuments! Gail promotes Flagstaff as a premier destination for meetings and events, assisting in the coordination of all efforts affiliated with hosting a conference, meeting or event in Flagstaff. Prior to joining the CVB, Gail was a sales manager with Enchantment Resort in Sedona and a sales coordinator with the Pebble Group in California. Gail’s favorite Flagstaff experience is walking her dog through the forest and smelling the fresh air and pine. Please contact Gail if you need assistance in placing a meeting or securing a room block for an event. She can also answer questions regarding anything meeting and event related, from where to rent port-a-potties to entertainment options.

Joanne works with members of the media, providing story ideas, publicity copy, press kits and images of Flagstaff.  She also distributes press releases and responds to media requests for information and facilitates press familiarization tours.  Prior to joining the CVB, Joanne worked in public relations for both the Bakersfield, California and Oxnard, California CVB’s.  She also spent a few years living in the Washington DC metro area managing events and bookings at a Boy Scout camp facility.  As a California native, new to the Grand Canyon State, Joanne enjoys exploring the national and state parks near Flagstaff and visiting attractions on historic Route 66.  Please contact Joanne for media related inquiries, press release assistance, media familiarization tours and to provide her with information on new businesses, renovations, openings, etc.

Jennifer is a graphic designer and part of the Marketing and Publications team, where she designs print and online creative for the CVB’s advertising campaigns, the Flagstaff Visitor Guide and marketing collateral for sales, public relations and film office staff. Prior to joining the CVB, Jennifer spent 25 years as an art director, designer and illustrator for advertising, design and publishing firms in Phoenix, Denver, Boulder and Flagstaff. Raised in Flagstaff, Jennifer’s many favorite things about living here include hiking the area trails with her dogs, wildlife watching, outdoor concerts, First Friday ArtWalk and taking advantage of the dining and nightlife in historic downtown. Michael is a graphic designer and part of the Marketing and Publications team where he coordinates the design and production of Flagstaff Happenings, My Flagstaff, and oversees the content of the CVB’s web site and Calendar of events. Prior to joining the CVB, Michael worked as a designer in publishing, printing and public relations agencies, including owning his own freelance business. He also served for thee years as president of the Flagstaff Communicators. A Flagstaff native and NAU graduate, Michael’s appreciation for Flagstaff grows every day as he watches his family grow up in his hometown. One of his recent favorite experiences was watching the Gin Blossoms at Pine Mountain Amphitheater, sitting on a blanket with family and friends among the cool pines. Kathy manages the day-to-day operations of the Flagstaff Visitor Center, ensuring that it is a comprehensive and information-rich resource for visitors to Flagstaff.  Prior to joining the CVB, Kathy was an Area Manager for the Western National Parks Association, managing bookstores at Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki national monuments, as well as the bookstore at the National Park Service Headquarters. Kathy’s favorite things to do are ride her motorcycle all over northern Arizona during the summer months and curl up in her recliner next to her wood stove with a good book during the winter months.  Please contact Kathy if you have questions about Visitor Center operations or if you have information that you would like to disseminate to tourists.
